网络数据分析公司comScore刚刚发布了《Mobile Future in Focus》报告。在下周巴塞罗那的全球移动大会(Mobile World Congress)之前,comScore调查了美国、欧洲5国、加拿大及日本的手机使用情况。

其中有很多亮点,最让人意外的是:从调查的数据来看,之前所争论的“Web已死,App为王”根本不是那么一回事儿。

从上面这张图就能看出,欧洲5国(英法德意西)使用手机应用接入网络的有38.2%,而是用手机浏览器接入网络的也有38.1%。再看美国用户,47.6%使用手机应用链接互联网,同时,也有47.5%的手机用户使用手机浏览器接入互联网。两种使用方式的用户基本一样多。

所以说,Web并未如之前人们讨论的那样会渐渐消亡下去。而App虽然多了0.1个百分点,但几乎不算是任何优势。可能在亚非拉美等一些国家这一数据有所差别,但从目前来看,Web和App的关系还没有明显的趋势。

除了这个,还有几个比较有意思的数据,再次分享给大家。

这是美国市场增长最快的移动应用,健康类应用增长最快,高达134%。其次在线零售、男性杂志、电子支付的增长速度都在80%以上,游戏、工作、生活参考、分类信息、拍卖网站、家庭娱乐增长速度在70%上下。

下面这张图是美国2005年~2011年的智能手机操作系统市场份额发展情况,从途中可以看出,Android系统自2008年开始呈现迅猛增长;而iOS系统增长并不明显,从2010年到2011年只增长了20%,但非常稳定。另外Palm系统已经消亡,RIM也在加速灭亡中,仅2011年一年市场份额下滑了50%。

下面是美国自2010年6月~2011年12月的智能手机系统分布图,Android快速增长、iOS基本不变、RIM快速消亡。微软、塞班和Palm都很小,而且市场份额也在不断减小。

不过这张欧洲5国的智能手机市场份额分布图到有点意思。从途中可以看出,这5个国家塞班系统和iOS系统占主要部分,但塞班的份额都在减少,iOS在英国和法国市场也在减少。所有系统中唯一一个在5个国家智能手机市场份额都增长的只有Android系统,而且年增长速度在100%~500%之间。

The Real Reason Cities Can Be So Much Greener Than Other Places

 

      对于那些研究城市可持续发展的学者来说,始终有一个令人疑惑的谜题困扰着他们。按人均计算,地市地区要比其他地区绿化得更好,然而城市里的居民所拥有的生态足迹面积却是很小的。

      在我们现存的模型中,我们只能理解这个差异的一半,甚至一半都不到。诚然,城市中的一些节能环保之处并不难解释。比如,由于在大城市中开车不是很方便而不开车出行却比较方便,人们就会尽量少开车。其他因素单个看起来影响很小,但是累加的效果却不容忽视:因为建筑物之间距离比较近,它们之间的电力传输和运送过程中的损耗就相对减少了;道路和其他公共设施中的蕴含能 相对比较少;城市的住宅也更加紧凑和节能。

      但是最有趣的原因或许正是我们理解的最差的一个: 实际上城市中的人们会互相影响,并且用更高效的方式来使用资源。当我们只孤立地看到个人的因素的时候,我们就已经忽视了这个网络的协同作用的影响。

      有其他的模型可以帮助我们来解答这个谜题,尤其是那些可以解释动态网络的模型。特别是一个被称为“知识外溢效应”的经济学现象。这就是城市会成为动力强劲而又经济实用的生活发动机的原因之一。在同一座城市里面,如果你正在做X,而我正在做Y,那么我们的知识结合在一起的结果就允许我们做Z,只有当我们之间的物理空间足够近的时候,我们的知识才会从一种企业扩散到别外一种企业中去。

    在实际生活当中,有许多这种知识的外溢,它们逐渐地互相关联和巩固,创造出一种经济活动的良性循环,进而成为一个全新的行业。(可以参考以底特律为中心的汽车工业,或者是以帕洛阿尔托为中心的个人电脑工业。)这种模式是经典的“网络化”模式,这与生物学中的新陈代谢过程的工作原理有些类似。

      科学家们早就知道一个类似的模型,它有助于我们理解在一个可持续发展的环境下,一个生物体或者是一个生态系统如何高效地进行新陈代谢,创造出新的物质或结构,并一次又一次地循环使用资源。

     看起来在城市中也发生了与此类似的情况,与生态系统相对应的是资源的共享。区域集中供热系统就是一个很好的例子——我发电,然后用很便宜的价格把废热卖给你,结果就是我们都受益。这种“代谢效率”也会以另外的不明显的方式体现出来,比如行人的出行网络。如果我步行在一个可以提供日常所需的街区,那么我就可以非常轻松地安排我的行程,我可以停下来去看看你,然后我们可以一起吃饭。

      相比之下,如果我是开车出行的,那么我的行动方式就受到比较大的限制,不仅是受限于汽车内部的狭小空间,而且更大程度上是受限于道路状况。我开车更可能会去那些设计得比较松散的高消费区域(比如有汽车穿梭通道的餐馆)。所以我不光是开车耗费着汽油,并且也产生了许多其他形式的高消费,因为我享受了“资源的共享”却失去了高效的代谢网络。

      还有许多其他的关联因素使我们的生活更有效率:对我们身体新陈代谢和健康的影响,适于步行的城市的经济活力等许多因素。在每种情况下结论都是一样的:城市中这些自发组织起来的网络中存在着丰富的资源,这些网络也提供了学习用我们自己的计划和实施方式来自立和提高的机会。

      必然的结果就是我们正在建立起了一个缺乏代谢效率的郊区蔓延模式,这种模式要靠大量的资源投入来维持。如果在一个拥有无穷无尽的资源的世界里,资源的大量消耗不会导致诸如资源枯竭和气候变化,这种模式或许还是没有问题的。但是在我们的现实世界中,这却是我们面临的最严重的问题。
